Also called "Isla del Muerto", as it functioned as a prison
politics during the colony and the beginning of the republic. Among its prisoners was Viceroy Blasco Núñez de Vela, deposed in 1544. Later, it was a penitentiary center for common prisoners.
It is possible to access these islands starting from the docks of La Punta and the
Callao. Visits: Mon-Sun 9-10 a.m., prior reservation. Minimum 4 people. Duration
of the route: 4 hours.
