Également déjà constant dans les visites de 1534, l'église de San Bento du Cortiço a été fondée à une époque inconnue. Selon Túlio Espanca, il existait déjà en 1424 un ermitage à São Bento da Aldeia da Talha, le nom primitif de ce village, qui aurait pu être guéri plus tard, donnant naissance à une église paroissiale.
Rua Cova da Onça, São Bento do Cortiço
De façade simple et sobre, cette église surprend principalement, à l'intérieur, par la grandeur démesurée de ses autels collatéraux, en marbre de couleur d'Estremoz, dédiés à Notre-Dame du Rosaire et des Âmes. Ils datent de la phase finale du rococo, vers 1780, selon Túlio Espanca, et nous montrent divers motifs, tels que des aigles stylisés, des tabliers de palmiers ou des chérubins.
