It is thought that this will be the Pelourinho that once stood in the municipality of Ouguela (nowadays municipality of Campo Maior) of style marked Manueline.
Its base is based on a pedestal with five steps in polygonal shape. Its column is decorated with semi-spheres, being still visible the irons of subjection, possibly quinquennial.
The Pillory of Elvas is one of the symbolic monuments of this beautiful city of the Alentejo region.
